VAX-11 MODULA-2 FOR OPENVMS VAX (Hamburg compiler, V3.2-25)
============================================================

What this is
  A native Modula-2 compiler for OpenVMS VAX, with its run-time library, the
  foreign definition modules for the VMS system services, RMS, the RTL, SMG
  and so on, a pretty printer and an EBNF tool. The compiler is written in
  Modula-2 and compiles itself.

  Authors: the DBPL research project, Fachbereich Informatik, Universitaet
  Hamburg (J. W. Schmidt; J. Koch, M. Mall, P. Putfarken, H. Eckhardt), after
  the Modula-2 compiler of N. Wirth's group at ETH Zuerich; version 3.2 as
  distributed through DECUS (kit MODULA032, 1989). See DOC.

Use
  $ @SYS$COMMON:[SYSLIB.MODULA2]MODULA2_SETUP        ! once per login
  $ MODULA HELLO                                       ! HELLO.MOD -> HELLO.OBJ
  $ LINK HELLO                                         ! the run-time library
  $ RUN HELLO ! is found through LNK$LIBRARY

  * Compile definition modules first: MODULA X.DEF makes X.SYM, then
    MODULA X.MOD makes X.OBJ; link the main module first: LINK MAIN,X,Y.
  * M2HELP MODULA shows the MODULA command's help (HELP/LIBRARY=...MODULA.HLB).
  * Reserved words and standard names are upper case; identifiers are case
    sensitive. The first nine characters of a module name are its file name.
  * Foreign definition modules (%FOREIGN DEFINITION MODULE ...) give access to
    system services and the RTL; the library has them for VMS, RMS, SMG, STR$,
    LIB$ and the usual constant sets (JPIDefinitions, SSDefinitions, ...).
  * In a BATCH job, compile with /NOLIST: the compiler's default of /LIST in
    batch crashes with an integer divide by zero on this system (the MODULA
    command definition in this kit does not make /LIST the default).
